When the United States entered WWII, a small group of young Americans was sent into the Atlantic to combat Hitler's deadly U-boat fleet, then dangerously strangling the allied war effort. They were the first to strike in the all-important "Battle of the Atlantic", called by Churchill himself the most crucial battle of the war. "VC-9" not only recounts the general history of this heroic naval-air squadron, which also saw action in the Pacific, but, based on first hand accounts from the pilots themselves, details each of their major combats.
