This review is pure puffery: after all I'm the author, how many stars did you expect me to give it. Anyway, what's it all about? Well after a lifetime of writing poetry and half a lifetime of travelling around the world my recent modest success in performance venues has led me to make some of my work available. By profession I am an English teacher and I never tire of telling my students that I have visited more than fifty different countries and written poetry constantly throughout my travels. In this volume you will find a selection ranging from my long and complex homage to my favourite museum, The House On The Rock, to poems about sunsets, to poems about poverty, to poems about hiking, to poems about... well travel really. Everything in the book is somehow related to my travels, whether it's poems about places, poems inspired by places or just stuff I wrote when I was travelling. I have an endless enthusiasm for travel and I hope that, in some small way this book will appeal to... More > you. The writing style is eclectic, ranging from the song-like structure of Bangkok Hustle to the stark modern style of Other Childhoods via haiku, blank verse and iambic pentameter. The subject matter, even though all travel-linked, is equally diverse. Please enoy Bob Hale< Less
