ByRobert Soper

Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This is a story of subtle revenge brought on by the actions of a bitter Yorkshire housewife who has tricked her husband into an early and loveless marriage. It is she who has the affair that results in the arrival of her only child; it is she who spent all his mining injury compensation money and it is she who now blames her hapless husband for her predicament. She drives him into the waiting arms of a fellow allotment holder and slowly a new romance emerges which makes Philomena even angrier. Falling out with all but one friend she goes through life determined to make Len's life a misery, only to make her's so much worse. Slowly the tables turn and rather than her getting her revenge on him, for all his imaginary faults, she begins to realise that effortlessly her stupid husband is getting his revenge on her. Set amongst the mining community of South Yorkshire this is a black comedy looking at life after the pits had gone.
