Stone is the story of a preacher turned fish farmer who established his own trout hatchery and later joined the U.S. Fish and Fisheries Commission and was sent to California to establish the first salmon hatchery in the west. He was involved in a train wreck in Nebraska, fought Indians and sent tens of millions of salmon eggs from California to the east.
