Author Robert Widner has compiled a fantastic resource listing more than 1,000 aircraft accidents between Dec. 7, 1941 and August 1945. Many of the accidents have narrations, while there are listings for a couple hundred additional crashes. Widner also provides aerial photos showing the crash sites along with local landmarks. These images and other resources in this book will allow future historians and those interested in finding aircraft crash sites an outstanding place to begin their research. Detailed maps, aircraft three-views, cut-away drawings, and photos of the aircraft in flight complement the other excellent resources within this book. I highly recommend this book to hikers, aviation enthusiasts, and historians interested in the World War II era.

This is the first book I ever read about crash sites, and I'm warning you it will hook you on site investigations for life! The detail and research in this book is unmatched anywhere!
