According to Robin P Clarke’s analysis, the planet’s key crisis is not environmental, but rather political—the universal displacement of competent, honorable people by a criminalocracy of the most dishonest and unscrupulous. That is why so many sound ideas about environment, society and economy continue to be ignored in the corridors of power other than in terms of the spin advantage that can be extracted from them. Campaigners are all but everywhere fighting in retreat against the forces of darkness. The only effective strategy is to first resolve that key crisis of failed political systems, by replacing mass elections with something that actually works. Building on decades of research into the best alternatives, the book goes on to present the nuts and bolts of how the resulting conception is being put into practice rather than just theorised about. And of course the book ends by inviting you to join in the action!

"Re: coming Oil crisis will be critical to our economy and society!" Hello Lionel, I agree that the oil/energy crisis is one of the key challenges, probably the greatest. When I wrote the book in 2004-5 I hadn't yet taken that on board. In any update I would want to add some thoughts on how the end of oil would tie in with the RDP project. Any suggestions? It is surely at least obvious that the oil problem is itself also a political/social problem and needs political/social solutions to sort it out (in addition to a lot of new tech of course). Meanwhile, I should explain that I had hardly finished writing this book when my life became paralysed by a hideous scheme of harassment by the management clique of the 20-20 Housing "Co-operative" I had helped to get started in 1985. www.2020housing.co.uk That, combined with serious dental mercury poisoning which is now getting critical. I am still struggling to overcome the harassment scheme, I even had to write a whole... More > other book about it. And now they are trying to evict me. Their legal case is a pile of total illogicality and perjury but I don't have legal aid and the outcome of the March 2007 hearing remains dependent on the whim of the judge. Hopefully this disgraceful nonsense will be overcome and I can get back to working on these more positive matters again in 2007. (Meanwhile the spectacular update review of my autism theory, cracking the greatest medical catastrophe in history, the autism increase caused by dental mercury, is almost ready to send for publication.) Till then, cheers, Robin P Clarke.< Less

"Interresting but the coming Oil crisis will be critical to our economy and society!" Finally people are talking about Peak Oil, even Al-Gore believes it will soon happen “We almost are at or near what they call peak oil…” AL Gore (CNN, 14 June 2006). Thanks for looking at my report on Peak Oil and its financial perspectives (why you should suffer from it? when you can make huge benefits!)
