I bought the book right before my summer race season. It has changed everything for me on training. I have applied as many of the training techniques as possible to my workouts, as my time has allowed. I work full time and have a family, so training can be hard to fit in, but even with that my race times have improved noticeably. I wish I had known half of this stuff when I was a kid and paddling! I grew up paddling outrigger canoes, doing spring Kayaking and surfing and no one tolled me how to train like this. The book is easy to read, clear and realistic. It has become my training manual for stand up paddle racing. It is helping me train for the 13 mile, round the rock race in september, and I cant wait to delve deeper into the training next season. One last thing. Before I was just paddling, now I know how to train.
