In Mike Five Eight, Lieutenant Rusty Naille returns to Vietnam to complete his interrupted combat tour as a Forward Air Controller. Once again, he "volunteers" to fly a highly dangerous and even more secret mission than before – this time, over Cambodia. His Cessna O-2 plane is unmarked, he carries no identification, his existence is disavowed by his own government, and his right-seater is an NVA defector.

Mar 22, 2012Finished M58 tonight... Wow just isn't good enough to describe it !!! I can't remember when I last read a book that I actually looked forward to picking up and continuing to read. This was a great read and a very well written book. I'm looking forward to his next one with great anticipation.
Oct 10, 2009"Another excellent read" Another page turner from Rocky Raab. I couldn't wait to get off work so I could come home and read it. It was totally absorbing. Great work! When is the next one?
Dec 2, 2008"Mike 58" Not only is this book a great read but, what few know, it is more fact than fiction! Much more! I was assigned to the same unit and mission a couple of years before the time frame of this book amd can attest that Rocky Raab calls this fiction because the names have been changed to protect the innocent and/or guilty! A few characters are composites but all are real. Mr. Raab's descriptions of some flights were so accurate and familiar that I actually got a chill reading them. His description of various places made me dig up some old photos. He couldn't have been more accurate. Aside from bringing back a lot of memories, I especially enjoyed the book because of Mr. Raab's skill in story telling. It takes a unique talent to relate history accurately and still produce a book that is entertaining and fun to read. Most of the mission Mr. Raab describes was declassified only about seven years ago. Since then, I have mentioned this mission to fellow pilots on occasion.... More > Their reaction was always polite but they obviously thought I was stretching the truth a bit. Whether anyone believes these accounts or not, all I have to do now when someone asks what I did in VietNam is say "read Mike 58!"< Less
Oct 2, 2008"Mike Five Eight" “Mike Five Eight” This informative book is a fascinating read. Whether you have an interest in the South East Asia War or not, you will be spellbound reading about the trials the Mike FACS endured during their tours of duty. The author has a gift for describing those “White Knuckle” flights through heavy rain and total darkness. “Mike Five Eight” has yet again left me asking, “Where do we find such men”? Hollywood would have no problem formatting this book into a screenplay. Just keep the editors away and you’ll have a story that will keep you on edge for hours. A five star adventure from start to finish! Robert B. Green King George, VA
Aug 30, 2008"Mike Five Eight" As good as Baggy Zero Four is, Mike Five Eight is even better! As I read....I could see it and almost feel it and smell the air. It was like being right there! I look forward to Rocky Raab's next book!
