Taken together, the instructions and the workbook constitute a complete advanced code phonics curriculum beginning with one-syllable words and progressing through 2, 3 and 4 syllable words.

Instructions did a terrific job of helping us use Rod Everson’s Advanced Code Workbook correctly. I used the Workbook to jumpstart my daughter’s reading. His approach is very easy for parents to use -- brilliantly simple, logical and straightforward, and it produced effective results after we’d tried a number of popular reading methods without seeing any change. My daughter’s a smart little girl however she really struggled with reading. I got Mr. Everson’s workbook during spring semester first grade and within the first two hours of coaching she started to read simple words -- we were in the grocery store and she walked around going, "That says EGGS, that says MILK!" Over the next two months she made enormous, measurable progress and by the end of the school year was reading at grade-level.
