Have you heard of a place called Mong where the dream world intersects with the real world? At Mong, rules are easily bent and intuition often overwhelms logic. Desires go out of control and wishes come true in wrong ways. Once captured, monsters and villains from Mong are sent to the prison of Nightmare. A hideous serial killer manages to break out of the jail into the real world, terrifying the earthlings. A reporter from an obscure magazine company hunts the killer doggedly. Or is it the other way around? He has to find the clues about the killer before his girlfriend becomes the next victim. Time is dashing forward. In desperation, the reporter decides to cross the border of no return and climbs down into Mong. Little did he know what's waiting for him at that murky place.

The author delivers an unconventional blend of mystery and psychological drama. His unusual style creates a constellation of characters around a set of serial killings. As the story unfolds, you discover a web of interrelations between the quirky, often bizarre characters and these unprecedented brutalities. You must negotiate these incidents alongside the characters, moving through a dreamlike world that is at times pierced with harsh truth. With themes of loneliness, love, and the power of the human mind, this book compels readers to question not only their expectations about conventional storytelling but also their perception of reality itself.
This book is a masterpiece. It takes you in an exhilarating journey where one is captivated to hold himself and flow with the pages. Almost each page unfolds a secret but also puzzles reader’s mind with a few more. The book sets itself apart from a conventional writing style by drawing a multi-dimensional picture for its readers. I stopped everything else when I started reading this book and felt elated after finishing it in a week. This book is a bundle of secrets and I felt like a detective in the end solving the mystery. I am sure I will be able to reveal more when I read it second time. It is intellectually invigorating.
A friendly reminder: When you write a comment, please make sure not to reveal any secrets in the book. Otherwise, you will be ill-famed as a spoiler and that can't be a good thing, can it? Thank you!
If you are looking for a cosy story with a happy ending, this is not the book for you. However, if you are prepared for something completely different, intriguing, thrilling, and even challenging, which demands new heights of mental agility, then look no further. In the first chapter the reader is introduced to several seemingly unconnected characters in a series of cameos set in different towns world wide. These incredible individuals weave their way in and out of the narrative in an elusive and tantalising manner, creating a maze of questions, dilemmas, dead-ends, and the occasional glimmer of light. Perseverance is called for and will be rewarded by the end. That hunch which you had may just prove to be right and your questions will be answered .... or will they? I think it would take most readers more than one reading to fathom the depths to be found here.
This novel is one of the most unusual, yet interesting books I have read for a long time. The story, entwined with human psychology, follows the lives of interesting characters set in the book, and is told in an easy to read style, peppered with myriad of expressions normally not common place. Although I was beginning to loose interest in the book, (for me this is not new; once I almost gave up reading a book by a recent Nobel price winner!) the later chapters brings everything together. The book is a must read, not just for its unusual story content, but also the unique style it is told in. Phrases beginning each section in the chapters were a novel idea to me which I loved; so much that I could not wait to finish one and start on the next section.
