I feel privileged to write this review as it comes from the hand of a genuine WW2 British 8th Army Churchill tank crew member. Cpl Goldstein and his four brothers all fought in the war and he was stationed in in Italy. It is not a slick, carefully edited writing but rather the work of a young man who was in combat, wounded and returned to fighting. I would proudly call it the work of an amateur, he was a soldier not a writer and there in lives it's goodness to me. I thoroughly enjoyed the fiction generated in the mind of an author who had something to base it upon. By coincidence I have spent much time in the same part of Italy so his observations ring true to me. I have little doubt that memory as well as imagination played a part in this story. I have never met Mr. Goldstein but have had the pleasure of corresponding with him. As close as I will ever come to feeling what being in a tank in Italy, in combat, with one's mates is in these pages.I am grateful to have had an opportunity...
