"A Book of My Dreams by Ronald Havens" Ronnie has written a book that is personal in nature yet shares his journey from his childhood in Pawhuska, Oklahoma through his present. Some of the poems are bitter sweet but have inescapable power. For example, in the section Dreams of Michael, the first poem, I Don't Recall, Ronnie shares his feelings about a son that he lost in 1988 and as we read the poem we are drawn into it with his feelings and anyone who has lost a child can feel the pain but also that nagging feeling that they are not really gone. Ronnie touches on dreams of his mother, his father, friends, there is the beautiful "George Harrison Died Today" which brings his world, and mine, of the 1960's and connects it brilliantly and hauntingly to the recent death of George, the gentlest Beattle. I too lost a son, though not at such an age and I find comfort in Ronnie's way of dealing with his feelings about Michael. I hope more will discover and purchase this... More > little gem of a book and it will make a nice gift for many who will find that they share Ronnie's feelings. Much of his feeling comes from his years as a musician, as a music teacher and as a songwriter and this book catches the essence of Ronnie Havens. Stephen Joe Payne Bartlesville, Oklahoma< Less
