Life can be strange and people can be stranger still. The short stories and poems by this first time writer illustrate the quirks of our fellow humans, as well as the meaningful and whimsical moments that mark all our lives. In the stories ‘The Two Islands’, ‘The Valley of Doves’, ‘The Boy and the Butterfly’ and ‘Seaweeds’, this Caribbean author addresses issues such as intolerance, spirituality and love- sometimes in a fairy tale like manner, other times in a matter-of-fact way. The book also contains poems which seek to voice some of the dreams and whispers we all carry inside of us.

"A New Age Classic" To those who have had the pleasure of reading Rupert's articles in The Tribune, the leading newspaper in The Bahamas, you know he writes with authority, preciseness and flair that goes unmatched. For those who have had the pleasure of seeing him in all his glory as a dramatist (note not actor), you see a side of a character that embodies this usually quiet guy. If you haven't had this experience, you have to have this book. Rupert blends the supernatural with the natural and you can't tell them apart. If you are looking for a book that you will end up thinking about a month later and have your mind drift off to it's characters while you watch a late night movie, this is it. If there is one book that needs to be translated for the rest of the world to read it's this one. I purchased my autographed copy for my mother-in-law originally but ended up keeping it and getting her another one. This book transcends the ages. Young kids will be encouraged to ask... More > questions and think and older people will reflect and rack their heads. Rupert's enduring words are similar to Paulo Cohelo of the Alchemist and will provide the reader with infinite quotes. Can't wait for the next one Rupert! Congratulations! P.S Is this coming to hardcover anytime?< Less
"Dreams and Other Whispers - "WOW!"" This book is awesome! The writer is sooo creative. With his creativity and an imagination that's totally "out of this world" he paints his scenes thru his words. His stories all have a deeper meanings about relationships and about the purpose of existence. Its amazing the work this young author has created. I would recommend it to people of all ages. I am looking forward to reading more short stories and poems from this author
