Blood in the Neighborhood

The story is of a young girl, Dot, pulled from her hometown in West Virginia when her dad can’t find work. She finds her new community in Ohio to be unfriendly especially when she finds out her dad is moving the family into his girlfriend’s house. The girlfriend’s daughter and Dot are the same age, yet she keeps Dot at a distance until Dot discovers her secret or what she thinks is her secret. The power to belong is a strong force, and Dot’s choices will ultimately prove to cost more than a young girl should pay.
