"My Novel" I'm the author of this book, so I'm a bit...biased... Still, I think this novel is a good read for those who believe in characters who make choices; in people who face problems and deal with them as best they can; in men and women who have strong personal values and proclaim that their lives belong to them, not to faceless and nameless others. In this story, I have tried to create an almost "cinematic" experience in which the reader can easily visualize the situations. I think this leads to the kind of immediacy and involvement that will (hopefully) draw you quickly and deeply into the tale. This novel is a "contemporary" detective story...but one with a small twist. The society in which Dyrk Rinehart exists is ours, but "ours" in which true freedom has been established. Unlike most (if not all!) freedom-friendly stories, in this book, the cultural foundation remains primarily and unobtrusively in the background. What is important... More > here are the problems and actions of the characters and how these are resolved, not any issues of liberty per se. Because no matter how much personal freedom and autonomy are respected, difficulties and dangers will continue to abound. This is the context for Death Is Easy.
