Twelve year old Lucy has a number of toy bears. During her family's summer holiday, her bears come alive and this can only mean one thing.

And from the top shelf of Lucy’s bedroom they are watched by an old and wise but very lonely ventriloquist crow called Chris. He prides himself on never interfering in the bears’ lives but will he be able to keep to that promise?
Especially as the bears’ lives are in such a mess. With affairs, fights, lies, revelations and a wedding, things are certainly hotting up in Lucy’s bedroom!

"finished it!" finished the book last week... i know it's a cliche but it really was absolutely fabulous! the ending was so emotional in every way possible... pure brilliance!
"As The Crow Sits - fab!" Such a unique tale, there's simply nothing quite like it! Nothing that I've read before anyway! Young or old, there's no reason why you can't enjoy As The Crow Sits. There are some great one-liners and the repetoire is expertly written. Catherine never fails to have me in stitches! It's weird, because the characters are written in such a way that I feel I really know them as people (or bears, rather!) It's so hard to explain but I think you'd understand if/when you read it, or if you've already read it! I'll keep an eye out for the sequel!
"What a book!" To call this enthralling novel anything less than a classic would be an understatement of the most ridiculous variety. Wonderfully written, every character has an imaginative and captivating depth, yet of such realism. It is almost impossible to simply read this tale - one lives this tale, from beginning to end, often with tears in their eyes; be it of joy, sadness or, more often than not, tears of pure hysteria.
"Remarkable!" I couldn't agree more with previous reviewers. It is incredibly easy to relate to the characters; they represent a fantastic blend of credibility and realism with an imaginative twist. One of the best novels I've read in a long time.
