An amazing tale! What a wonderful story! I read it in one sitting and after finishing I wished I was a little girl again so that my mother would read it to me in different voices like she always did. The language is meant to be read out loud as it’s so poetic, so musical that it makes you hear the waves, an approaching hurricane, a despair of a friend being abandoned by a friend – all the human emotions and the world around the author was able to deliver through her masterfully crafted sentence structure and choice of words. The story itself tells us about two young children, Kate and Chris (and their dog Holly of course who I just couldn’t leave out as she is such an adorable main character on her own), who set out on a journey around the globe in a, well, you may say, magic ship. But during perilous voyage they learn a lot about themselves and the world around them, as many important messages are brilliantly crafted into the story, making it even more valuable and not only highly... Highly recommended (Amazon Customer) 5.0 out of 5 stars An enchanting children's adventure book that both enthrals and entertains. The illustrations work well and help the story flow. Well worth a read.(D.K. Anderson)) A story that never stops, page by page, to awaken that baby I feel sailing inside me. KIRKUS REVIEW A tale for young readers draws on the enchantments of sea travel. Inspired variously by the Odyssey, William Blake’s cosmologies, Rumi’s poems, and Charles Kingsley’s stories for youngsters, this novel embraces the magic of childhood imagining. Rollicking and wise, this sailing story mixes prose, poetry, and song, offering a special lyrical gift. according to Kirkus can be compared to 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'< Less
