This is a selection from the Ante-Nicene Fathers Volume 3 that contains the writings of Tertullian (c. 160-230), Part 3 of 4. He was from Carthage, North Africa and wrote extensively, mostly in Latin. After the year 200 A.D he may have left the orthodox church to join a Montanist sect of Christianity. His writings are in four parts in the Ante-Nicene Fathers: Apologetic, Anti-Marcion, Ethical, and Part Fourth found in Volume 4. Originally printed in 1885 by the Christian Literature Publishing Company. This is a re-print of a selection from that edition. Original editors were Rev. Alexander Roberts and James Donaldson, and revised by Cleveland Coxe. This is a wide-margin format to allow space for notes.
