Immaculate Conceptions is a read that captures the anguish of infertility and the grace of friendship. The characters are initially linked by their pain and frustration, but their relationships move beyond the emptiness of the inability to conceive to the redemption of their care for one another. This novel will resonate with any woman who has ever struggled with infertility and with any woman who has been saved by her friends.

Outstanding! Immaculate Conceptions is a must read for everyone. I was sceptical about the topic of infertility (definitely not an issue for myself). The book is so indepth on the process of helping infertility and even more so indepth on the emotions and lives of the characters portrayed. I, too, couldn't put it down. I cried for the women as they faced their heartache. The ending was everything it should be. I could feel the author in each character and just knew she had been down these roads right alongside her characters. Loved it!

Although the premise of this book is infertility, the depth of the characters and the reality of their lives makes the book much more than just that topic. It is so well written, it would appeal to anyone. The author has a skill with character development that brings them to life and you rush to see what will happen with them. As a lifelong, avid reader, I congratulate the author on getting the ending right. So often a good book will leave you disappointed because the ending is rushed or tricks you with a superficial twist. Not so with this book. It is real all the way through. I hope to see more writing by this author.

Despite being a Yankee, I've always been captivated by the South and all it's charms. The main characters of Immaculate Conceptions were so easy to like and relate to - earthy and sexy and real and raw. Teddy, Liv, Kelly and Maggie are the Designing Women (one of my favorite shows of all time, btw) of the chat room era. I've been on both sides of the coin when it comes to fertility, and I have to say author S.E. Sward is spot on in the depth of feeling in her characters as well as their perceptions, and the people around them. This book had me laughing and crying - sometimes on the same page - and I couldn't put it down.
