"Very Different Approach" Wow. After reading Sam Smiley and Louis Catron, I was expecting another standard "text." This wasn't. It's a fast-paced, pro-active workbook that takes you through a Wonderland-like "game" of creating the basics of a script (getting that out of the way in a fun and creative way). Once that's done, the author inspires us to pull our plot from the setting, characters, and conflicts between the characters. Folks, IT WORKS! All that rhetoric you've been reading and listening to will seem like an incredible waste of time once you've tried this remarkable book. IT MAKES SENSE AND IT WORKS. I originally downloaded the book, but am now buying a paperback copy so I can carry it with me. Just going through the downloaded book twice has sparked my imagination in ways I didn't think possible. I mean -- it's FAST. If you want to write a script, this is the book for you.

"I Love It!" If you want to WRITE a script in a day, use this method! It works! I've read about writing scripts. I've outlined scripts. I've been to lectures about writing scripts. And I've been doing this for twenty years. My daughter has this book downloaded on her computer. I read it, and started getting ideas. I'm not great with bright ideas, but just reading this sparked a few in my addled brain. I came here and downloaded it onto my own computer, and have been through the method three times in less than a week, and I've actually WRITTEN a script. It's not polished, but it's the best I've done in twenty years. If you actually want to WRITE rather than dream, do this!

"A Brand New Approach" I used this day-long scriptwriting process at the urging of a friend. I honestly thought I was going to be a miserable failure and feel like a fool, but the idea is clever and we all had a great time. I want a copy for myself, because now I'm interested in possibly acting, which is something I never thought I'd do! And I want to be able to go back through this process alone, now that I know how it works. Who would have thought that a day with friends could have turned me into a wanna-be actor and writer?

"A Play In A Day" I found this book at Amazon, and wish I'd known about the download here. It would have been great to have the PDF on my computer desktop as I went through the method. I'm very new to script writing. I've only taken one class on the subject, and read half a dozen books. This method is the first thing that "clicked" for me. The author is very good about giving examples of putting the elements of script writing together, but I need a lot of examples (not being terribly imaginative), so I gave this four stars. Maybe I need to be led by the hand too much! But I have to say this got me going on a script and gave me a completely new view of plays and films. Next maybe I'll try acting?

"Buy The Download!" I had the book version of this for about a year, and although I got a lot out of it, I didn't actually go through the method the way it's laid out. Finally I found the download, saved it to my laptop desktop, and took it with me to a Wordworkers meeting. We agreed to try writing a script as a group, and got together over Labor Day weekend. By the end of Saturday, we'd written a really good script, and on Sunday we filled in some missing dialogue, etc. This method is so fast and effective I'm going to invite a group of non-writer friends to try it as a theme party. This stuff works!
