A genuinely compelling and stylish thriller with a fascinating (if occasionally infuriating) lead in Dave Carter. Beautifully written with warmth and insight this story feels utterly authentic. I've been to Mexico myself and Sam Edwards captures the beauty and ugliness of the country perfectly. Give it a go!

This is a wonderful thriller with a twist... Dave Carter is your archetypal rubbish bloke - cynical and unable to commit, who harbours a dark past of sadness and loss... When he ruins another relationship, he quits his job to go to Mexico, where he accidentally hooks with a bunch of gun-runners operating under the guise of running a dive shop... CIA plots, murder and a spell in an evil prison in Belize await Dave, but will he ever tell the girl he's crazy about that he loves her, or put his past to rest for once and for all... Pacey, intelligent writing, full of wit and dark humour... Narcosis grasps your attention and plunges you into a hot blue world of sea, sand and intrigue...
