Banned & Recovered: Artists Respond to Censorship underscores the current political climate and points to the vulnerability of guaranteed fundamental rights. More than 60 artists were invited to choose from a list of hundreds of banned and challenged books as a source for inspiration, many considered classics or works that have created an important cultural legacy.
