Young Seanna Raines is a dreamer, not a doer, and she hates her life. To escape the grim reality of her daily existence, she runs to the woods near her trailer park home to dream of a better future. When a mysterious stranger rescues her from an attack by her abusive father, Seanna believes her knight has finally arrived. For the first time, Seanna feels loved. From his looks to his carefree, wealthy lifestyle, Samuel is the perfect man. Just the scent of him has her head swimming in a beautiful fog. But when he bestows his first gift, a delicate black butterfly, her life is irreversibly changed. Seanna's newfound dream becomes a nightmare as a plague of death falls upon her family and friends. Samuel's gifts continue to arrive until the body count strangely matches the number of butterflies in her collection. With increasingly vivid night terrors, Seanna suspects the man of her dreams is the one dismantling her life...

As an avid reader since I was a little girl, I have not enjoyed a book so much in a long time! I instantly connected with Seanna, the main character, and felt myself just drawn to her and wanted to reach in the book and help her myself!! I found myself having a hard time putting the book down, and couldn’t wait to get to the ending to find out what happened. The ending totally surprised me, and was not what I expected, which just added to my enjoyment of the book overall! Very well told story and strong characters in it – both Seanna and Samuel were well defined, with both the good and evil inherent in all of us showing through to the both of them. It was a great novel by Ms. Campbell, and I look forward to the next installment, so that I can find out what Seanna does next!

Butterfly Harvest is the first of what I hope will be many more books for Sandra Campbell. From the first page your heart goes out to Seanna... a misfit not only in school but in her own family as well. Then she meets the mysterious Samuel who seems like the answer to her prayers - or will he turn out to be the demon in her nightmares as her life spirals out of control? It will be interesting to see how Seanna handles the power she acquires from Samuel - be it for good or evil.

Excellent breakout novel by Sandra Campbell. Seanna is a character that any YA reader can identify with. Love the new twist on immortality and the fact that this isn't another vampire book. Lookout Bella and Stephanie....Butterfly Harvest

Debut novels are the best way to catch a glimpse of up and coming authors - Sandra Campbell is just that. This is a well-told, and sometimes creepy, coming of age story with strong characters. The story starts off a little slow but doesn’t miss a beat as it races to an exciting end. I am looking forward to seeing more from this talented writer.
