A Review by Joyce Parker-Hyde Don't think I'm too weird-but I just finished reading 'Minnie Lee'. First I was saving it for my plane ride, I got part of it done-had to put it away (didn't want to start bawling in strange places). I then watched a few episodes on the history channel to get the feel of what she had lived through -we are so very removed from really really hard work and self sufficiency. By the time I got to her last days I could barely see through the welled up water in my eyes. I could see where you got all of your talents and closeness to nature and appreciation of everything! Thank you for remembering those old people who were her friends. I still like to hold books and turn pages gave me a chance to share a few historical nuggets with my grandson. Thank you so much for writing it and for sharing it, I hope a lot of people read it and think about who we really are and how we got to where we are and maybe-just maybe cut back on the selfishness and pettiness that only... More > serve to tear apart things that have been hard won through the literal blood sweat and tears of those who came before. Joyce Parker-Hyde LA< Less
