Four nights a week, 9-year-old Maia walks down the side of the highway to get to Taekwondo classes. She and her mother and younger sisters pass other pedestrians and bicyclists trying to make it safely down this short, but dangerous stretch of road without a sidewalk. Maia, a Junior Girl Scout, is urging the community to chip in and help raise funds to build this sidewalk to benefit pedestrians and businesses, providing safety, exercise, and convenience.
