For Deborah Peregrin, owner of a small-town jewelry store, life is simply chugging along. She makes custom creations for the well-heeled and tangles with the common heels. When one of her best customers, Mae Griffiths, turns up dead of a cocaine overdose, Deborah can't sit back and accept the verdict of suicide. After all, the tragedy happened on the very night Mae was to acquire Deborah's latest creation, and no woman in her right mind would kill herself when anticipating a stunning handmade necklace! Frustrated with the local police department, Deborah sets out to find Mae's murderer. A brush with certain death, a night in jail in Mexico, and the possibility of romance await her.

"A very nice first effort!" Sarah, I loved your title, and cover art. Awesome! My wife thinks the title is 'horrible' but she says it with a laugh--which means you accomplished exactly what you set out to accomplish. Your writing is good--a round of editing would not hurt you--but it is certainly readable. Some presentation errors--ie; you should have justified the right margin. This is very possibly a choice you made deliberately--so I am not too worried about it, but the use of numbers--ie: '3' instead of 'three' is a bother. Publishing rule is--if it's under 100, or is a common exponent (100, 1000, 1,000,000)you spell it out, otherwise numbers are okay. Again, a good editor whould help you tremendously--but I know they are an expense. Anyway, good luck with this--it's a fun little read! Micheal Sorensen--Miren Publishing Group

"Re: A very nice first effort!" Just wanted to thank you for your kindly review and words of advice. I actually picked up on that '3' vs 'three' thing recently and have adjusted it on my current writings, but thanks so much for pointing it out. Second book is due out this summer! Also my science fiction series is well under way (completely different genre, writing style, etc) and the first book will be finished late spring. ~Sarah Christenson blog.theurbanrebellion.com wexfordjewelers.com
