More > Confederate cemetery. He was the only person there. It was late in the day and the sun seemed to float through the live oaks and Spanish moss. The shadows seemed to dance on the tombstones in the warm evening breeze. The only sound heard was the rustle of dry leaves rolling along the ground. He spent a long time beside the tomb of the Confederate Unknown Soldier. It was dark when he made his way back to his rental car. Later that night he wrote Rebel Soldiers.
