Calendar (January to January 2013). Beautifully designed, close cropped artist photographs of Peonies. They have a painterly feel.
... More > Peonies are my favourite flower but after the first hard rain they turn down or fall to the ground.
For myself and for peonies admirers
everywhere, I have captured their
lovely full blossoms with my camera.
Now we can all be reminded
of their magical presence

Calendar 2013, 13 months January to January.
Over the years, I have found these miracles of nature on my window and watched with excitement as nature painted this magical frost art on my windows.... More > The next morning I would get up early, excited to see what beauty I would find. In most cases there was a small window of opportunity (pardon the pun) to capture them. As soon as the sun hit the window, they melted, gone until the next masterpiece would appear.
It’s hard to find frost like this anymore, as today’s windows are well made and do not provide the leakage and moisture required to form the frost. But I am always looking and if I find frost on a friend’s window I invite myself to stay the night and bring my camera.
Depending on the time of day and the angle of the light, the refracted light produces a colourful display that can explode into a three-dimensional abstract. I have not manipulated them in any way other than sharpening and some clean up. Contact janice@janicestreet.ca< Less
