The institute program was established on the campus of Southern Oregon College in 1962. The book is dedicated to the teachers and leaders who labored so diligently to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the youth and young adults in the area. The names of over 1000 volunteer teachers are included in the Appendices. Written by Douglas F. Baird, the director of the Ashland Institute of Religion who taught and lived in Southern Oregon for 29 years.
