Secluded Narratives By William L. Wright, Jr
eBook (PDF): $0.00
This is a compilation of narrative poetry written between July of 2012 and November of 2013. I put together this anthology as a way of paying homage to my beloved Grandfather. He was the type of... More > person that always had a story to tell or song in his heart. I've squandered many hours daydreaming about reaching his level of storytelling. In a way i feel i have kept his tradition alive, but it is with my own flavor and flair. I prefer to write in prose and my work can become cryptic and difficult to decipher at times, but I put a lot of emphasis on imagery and emotion in my poems to ensure the reader has a connection with my work. Sure, you may have to re-read a piece a couple of times to fully absorb its message, but i assure you it is worthwhile in the end.< Less

Fever Dreams of a Young Romantic By William L. Wright, Jr
eBook (PDF): $0.00
The dream took place between the years 1912 and 1923. A strange woman who bore a resemblance to an unhealthy obsession of mine was standing in the middle of an empty field. The sky was dark and... More > overcast, and the only object that could be seen for miles was an old rickety Model- T truck. The woman in this dream had beautiful jet black hair, glistening dark brown eyes, and smooth olive skin. I approached her slowly with anxiousness billowing from my stomach. The first words that fled from her lips, as tears streamed down her cheeks were: "Take me with you wherever you go" and from that point I sprung awake and began to write. The poem i began to write was an act of desperation, an attempt at turning back time and reliving a tender moment in some small patch of nowhere. The poems and stories in this collection are further attempts at reverting back to my dreams. This is all but a desperate retelling of fever dreams.< Less
