Taking the Red By Emily Rowden Fournier
Paperback: $10.00
Prints in 3-5 business days
This collection, Taking the Red, has taken many years to assemble. I have been writing and presenting poems for the Horizon Program’s World AIDS Day celebration for five years. The wonderful... More > work that the Horizon Program, through MaineGeneral Health, provides has encouraged me to offer support to those friends and strangers who have been affected by HIV/AIDS. Since my first World AIDS Day poem, “Patches,” I knew I was going to combine the works into a book. Taking the Red is a book about celebrating life, even when faced with uncertainty. Some of the poems in this book belong with other collections of my poems, LIVE! and The Leather Bound Works, but I chose to include them in this anthology as well because I believe they speak about the struggles and strength represented by the World AIDS Foundation and those fighting daily for a cure.< Less
