More > character" by Psychological Dimensions Press in 1985. It has been updated and contains recently published work: a seventeen page synopsis of NPA personality theory, and articles on dopamine and trait aggression, and on personality traits in the Australian Aborigines. It contains the original version of the "NPA personality theory" derived from the ideas of Karen Horney. The NPA traits, posited to be of genetic origins, are sanguinity, perfectionism and aggression. The trait of sanguinity is related to the classic concept of "narcissism". Most of the text is written in question-and-answer (Q & A) format. Book properties: Trade quality paperback (6" x 9"), 558 pages, 22 figures, 9 tables, 48 plates, glossary, addendum, index.< Less

The NPA theory of personality, based on three genetic traits (sanguinity, perfectionism and aggression) is used to map the worldwide distribution of character traits. Presence or absence of the... More > traits gives rise to discrete character types. The model predicts stable polymorphisms of the character phenotypes that could be analyzed with the use of the classical Hardy-Weinberg concepts of gene frequencies and populations in equilibrium. Both indigenous and non-indigenous groups were typed according to the three traits with the use of archival sources and information available on the internet. Our results are presented in the form of color-coded maps that depict the worldwide distribution of the character phenotypes, as well as of the three traits. The results are analyzed with respect to the "Out of Africa" concept of the ancestral migrations of Homo sapiens. Gloss color oversize paperback edition: 6.63 x 10.25 in., 104 pp, maps, 25 plates, Synopsis of NPA theory, index.< Less
