The China Bucket List By Jon Sims
eBook (PDF): $8.99
On a cold, grey, miserably misty December 18th 1995, fate dumped me unceremoniously on the tarmac at Ningbo International Airport. 14 hours previously it was still mid summer in New Zealand. Had I... More > been able to speak Chinese I would have not left the airport, but bought a ticked back to where I had come from. This place was, noisy, dirty, pushy, shovey, cold and grey and miserable. In short: GRIM. I did not speak Chinese and I was whisked away to a cold, grey and miserable building a couple of hours away. That sort of sealed it. A new challenge and BOY! What a challenge. If you like to be challenged, I thoroughly recommend China. It tests you in every single way you could imagine, and then some. Is it worth it? Yes, oh yes. Would I do it again? No, emphatically no!< Less
What Has Happened to Toytown? By Jon Sims
eBook (ePub): $2.11
As a scientist I have put these in alphabetical order. A couple which managed to elude me? I have many antisocial habits and one of them (but not the worst) is writing poetry. Don't ask me why!... More > I've written some lyrics for songs for my school chum Neil Rich who, by the way is a bloody amazing musician. He lives in Devon and 1423 and a few others are really quite nice. When it comes to the arts, poetry must be quite close to the bottom, and quite rightly so as it takes anyone with a pen to produce the stuff. Fortunately for you I use a pencil. I have been writing this stuff all my life. I don't know why! So here is a collection of some of the better stuff. There is happy, sad, existential, funny, ridiculous and well.. stuff really. Buying a book of poetry is like buying a music album. There are a few really nice songs that you want to hear. The rest is just so-so. I guess what is in this collection is going to be like that. The picture on the cover is me standing on the beach at Zhujjia Jian< Less
God Really Does Exist By Jon Sims
eBook (ePub): $2.11
As an atheist scientist, and because science and religion have been at loggerheads since both of them started (which is about at the same time), I went down the "lets find some common ground so... More > we can go walking into the sunset together" and discovered that actually God did make us and all living things! As a confirmed atheist (if that is possible!) I found this fact to be quite interesting. I also in this journey discovered the reason for Instinct, black holes and alien Rabbits. It is a fun romp through science and religion. I have hit on some very logical theories and I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did in writing it.< Less
The Penultimate Self Help Book By Jon Sims
eBook (ePub): $2.11
The name "penultimate self help book" is rather self explanatory as the self help actually does mean SELF HELP. So this book cannot help you. Hopefully it can make you realise that... More > actually, the only one that can help you is you. It's actually that simple. I hope you get that from this book. It's a bit of fun and lets face it.. If I can write a self help book, then anyone can!< Less
