And then there was "Little Abe" Swango from Kentucky who carried his longrifle on foot for over 1500 miles, from the Thames Campaign in Canada where Tecumseh was killed, to the Battle of New Orleans where the cream of British regulars met the squirrel-hunters from Kentucky and Tennessee.< Less
