More > best known for stories like "The Time Machine" and "War of the Worlds," stories of such imagination that they have been made into movies several times, including the recent remake of "War of the Worlds" by Steven Spielberg, starring Tom Cruise. But Wells also wrote many short stories, particularly early in his career. Much of these early stories are precursors to some of his later novels, but are often hard to find or completely out of print today.
