This collection of essays and short stories, poetry, letters started as a stream of thoughts about mental health, and ended up with a plea to a "prescriber" for a correction of duplicate... More > drugs, and overdose due to drug interactions. Dubono is using the vehicle of her pen to advocate again for more responsible and ethical "treatment" (there is no treatment) of persons with mental illness living in the community in group homes or otherwise. In the hospital, patients were followed up for harmful side effects of the psychiatric drugs on their bodies, not so in the community, she fears. Group homes are not adequately serviced by doctors, or psychiatrists, or nurses and most do not have a social worker. The staff itself is not knowledgeable in the side effects of the drugs prescribed, and the residents who take those drugs are not warned about the side effects on their health. An important message for all readers.< Less
