Haiku stands on its own. Taken for what it is, true Haiku, within its purer form, elicits images through the use of metaphor, onomatopoeia and all the tools at the writers’ disposal encompassed... More > within a strict genre. Whether it’s how the lexis look, sound, appear placed on the page to affect interpretation, if not somewhat layered, or the imagery –stirred- within the reader’s mind is often influenced by positive karmic harmony, within the reader’s emotional disposition at the moment of its perusal. Not always will the same piece be interpreted as it once was, or will ever again be. Parfait is layers, as suggested within its name, if not perfectly, as the French may say, offered as a just dessert. Haiku ought to be much along similar lines… but different, just the same…. Meditation and contemplation play key roles in interpretation. At the same time, if all else fails, mirth is an enhanced measure of its worth; at least… , it is in my book. jl kuntz II< Less
