BED was constructed over the course of 30 days at the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art in Santa Ana, California as discarded objects were located and added to the final piece. During this time sketches were developed designing future possibilities for the final piece. As objects were located in dumpsters, behind buildings and on the street the design was adjusted to accommodate these newly found components. At the end of the 30-day exhibition BED was disassembled and all the found objects were returned to their original locations.< Less

Following the publication of this book Crussell Fine Arts organized an exhibition of 50 selected pieces to appear at the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art. Early in the summer of 2011 we received an email from a fellow artist requesting participation in an art show at Shoshana Wayne Gallery located in Santa Monica, California called Chain Letter. Within... More > 48 hours we received the same request from several other artists. Suddenly our basic math skills kicked in, calculating the possible participation of hundreds if not thousands of artists.
July 22 marked the installation day for Chain Letter and by 9am the social network sites were buzzing with comments about traffic, two hour waits and disappointed people who were unable to participate.
Witnessing this, we at Crussell Fine Arts felt a responsibility to these people and decided to create a Facebook version of the Chain Letter so that those who were turned away would still be seen in some capacity. Within hours people started to upload their images on our page and began to feel a little better. This catalog is a result of that day.< Less
