More > premiered on July 19, 2013 at Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts Duration: ca. 20 minutes Note: In a short fragment entitled “Farfallettina”, Rainer Maria Rilke ponders the violent death of a moth, “like a miniature lady who is having a heart attack on the way to the theater.” The idea of beings that are tiny, fragile, easily broken, yet inconceivably beautiful – like moths – captivated me as I was working on this new string quartet.
