This book's main concern is the alleged autobiography of Amos Oz A tale of love and darkness. Despite the many autobiographical elements in this book, Oz maintained and still maintains that this work... More > is not an autobiography. Therefore, this study aims to answer the following questions: 1) how can a character that shares the same name as his author which shares the same parents etc. be somebody else than the protagonist? And in this same line of reasoning 2) is it possible that a book that describes the life of the main character whose name is identical with the name on the cover be anything else then an autobiography? The author versus reader relation is the main vocal point in this study. In the third and final part of this study we focus more closely on A tale of love and darkness itself. In this part we will find Oz's reasoning - on the reality verses fictionality as it pertains to both the fictional novel and the historical novel.< Less
