Vicino ai nobili milanesi finanziatori della rivista “Il Conciliatore” nell’estate del 1820 Arrivabene ospita nella sua villa fuori Mantova il conte Luigi Porro, accompagnato dal Pellico che in quel periodo lavorava presso di lui come segretario e precettore dei due figli più piccoli. Purtroppo questa visita sarà la causa del suo arresto: verrà, infatti, accusato di essere a conoscenza dell’appartenenza di Pellico alla carboneria, ma di non averlo denunciato. Questo episodio, pur causando al conte Arrivabene un soggiorno di qualche mese nelle carceri veneziane, a cui seguirà un lungo periodo di esilio non farà venire meno la sua amicizia con Pellico.< Less
