The Story of the Blacks: The Aborigines of Australia
The Story of the Blacks: The Aborigines of Australia by Charles White, first published in 1904.
The black race of Australia will in a short time be but a memory, for the final issue in the unequal... More > struggle between the white man and his coloured brother is not far off, and the last chapter of the history of the aborigines is even now being written.
In dealing with this subject I do not purpose devoting much time to speculation concerning their origin; that is a division in which the general reader could not be expected to take any interest, howsoever attractive it may be to scientists.< Less

More > England. Most of the matches are played in Victoria and New South Wales prior to their departure to England. (Refer to Memoirs of an English Cricketer)
The Scoring Book belonged to my great grand father Charles Lawrence and has been handed down several generations within the Lawrence and Leech family.

Collingwood, Bendigo, Ballarat, Albert Ground, Newcastle, Manly, Wollongong, Parramatta, Portland, Warranbool, West Maitland, Bathurst and Singleton.
We have attempted to include score sheets of all the matches played however we acknowledge it may not be exhaustive and we intend to produce additional editions as more information becomes available.< Less
Dreamtime - An Aboriginal Odyssey
This is the story of a man on walkabout, in Australia, around 60,000 years ago.
The myths, legends and wonders of Aboriginal society are many and vast, passed on by word of mouth for... More > tens of thousands of years. If we assume that the ‘religion’ of these people dates back so far then we have to assume that creatures such as the diprotodon, megalania, and thylacoleo walked the earth as they did.
I have taken the liberty, whether justly or otherwise, to put these sacred stories into story form, so that there appears to be a more rudiment meaning to the entire development of Aboriginal Dreamtime, which is an eternal way of life and carries with it some sacred meanings.
The main character in the book, Nalon, is a fabrication, created in order to achieve my goal.
Last but not least, a warning:
This book might contain names of people who have since departed this world.< Less
The Aborigines of Western Australia
The Aborigines of Western Australia by Albert F. Calvert.
ANY attempt to fathom the depth of mystery which surrounds the history of the Australian Aboriginal must necessarily be--in the main--a... More > failure. The subject is surrounded with difficulty. Captain Dampier was the first Englishman known to have made the acquaintance of the Australian natives, whom he calls "the poor winking people of New Holland, the miserablest people on earth," and so forth. During the intervening two centuries we have not added much to our knowledge regarding them. They have no written language, and are forbidden to speak of the dead: two serious obstacles to research.
During my wanderings in Western Australia, in the capacity of a mining engineer, I came across a good many of the natives; and taking a profound interest in everything connected with the colony I resolved to set down in brief and simple form such facts...< Less
