It has been a great pleasure to me re-reading the whole collection as I have prepared them for this format. They represent the collective cultural heritage of the family that we are; spanning some 366 years back to Joshua Willes, born 1646 in Tolland, Connecticut.
It begins closer to the present with my parents, born at the beginning of World War I, newlyweds through the Great Depression, and a family of four during the rationing of World War II.
In between are the generations that fought the Revolutionary War and Spanish American War; those, who moved westward in the early days of a fledgling new nation; those who after persecution, sought refuge as Mormon Pioneers and made, through their industry, the desert blossom as a rose.< Less
