It is my version of a... More > journal. Everyday as I criss-crossed the Institution grounds, I sketched the events and took a few notes. Occasionally someone would ask to see my book. I would oblige. Many times I was asked if the drawings were for sale. The originals are not. The sketchbook is a tool for me. Many people showed an acute interest in my obsessive drawing of the ballet and orchestra, so I was just going to publish those.. But every time I tried to edit out a page, it seemed wrong, so I decided to publish the book in it’s entirety, imperfections and all. I hope lifelong Chautauquans and new visitors alike will experience Chautauqua through new eyes.< Less
