The first part, deals with the different iterations of the constitution, from the trial of the Alcmaeonidae until 403 BC. It traces the progression of Greek rulers and the constitutional reforms they initiated—or in some cases their suppression of constitutional rights and privileges. Aristotle (384 BC – 322 BC) was a Greek philosopher and polymath, a student of Plato and teacher of Alexander the Great. Cobden left a deep mark on British history. He advocated the repeal of the Corn Laws, which not only made food cheaper, but helped develop industry and benefit labour.
