Burma in Limbo By Hla Oo
eBook (PDF): $5.99
Formerly known as the Rice Bowl of British Empire where once sun never set, Burma now is one of the poorest least- developed-countries on earth. Naturally-rich Burma is in such a horrible shape... More > simply because of the Left-wing Military Dictatorship from early 1962 to late 1988. No body really knows how Burma ended up with an extremely rare left-wing military dictatorship run by the staunch anti-communist Army under General Ne Win. Every other army in this world is right-wing but Burmese army once was a left-wing Socialist army till 1988. General Ne Win (1911-2002) isolated war-torn Burma and sunk the once-rich people of Burma into extreme poverty. This Burma in Limbo - Book 1: Rich Colony to Dictatorship explains how Burma unfortunately was forced into Ne Win’s mad hands by a group of left-wing extreme-nationalists led by our national hero General Aung San (1915-1947) the so-called father of independence and the founding father of modern Burmese Army.< Less
The Air Force and the National Guided Missile Program 1944-1950 By Max Rosenberg & Stuart Slade
eBook (ePub): $12.95
At the end of World War Two, it was accepted that guided missiles would dominate future warfare. Yet, despite this conviction, nobody really knew how such weapons would be used, who would develop... More > them or who would deploy and use them in combat operations. As the post-war armed forces started to design these new weapons, they were truly entering unknown territory. This monograph takes us back to the days when these weapons were still in the earliest of conceptual stages. Even the very nature of a guided missile still had to be properly defined. As the fundamental issues involved in developing the new missiles were addressed, funding shortages and the developing political environment added difficulties of their own. Today, we find the idea of waging war without access to an arsenal of guided missiles and other precision-guided munitions quite unimaginable. The Air Force and The National Guided Missile Program 1944-1950 provides an invaluable insight of the era that gave birth to the modern art of war.< Less
Elborow School and the Great War By Howard Trillo

More > which in 1914 was at a ‘high point’ in terms of its academic and sporting performance. However, like every other aspect of life in Britain and elsewhere, the Great War changed Elborow forever – it was, literally, “never the same again,” especially when the cessation of the “War to end all wars” seemed to demand change... This book is about the young men, Old Boys of Elborow School, who were mobilised, or enlisted, in 1914 and thereafter, and the boys still at school who contributed to the ‘war effort’ either as ordinary pupils/citizens or as members of the 16th Rugby (Elborow) Scout Troop, whose history, along with Rugby scouting in general, is covered in some detail. Many of those Old Boys, of course, never returned home from Flanders Fields or elsewhere, and it is to those boys that this book is dedicated.< Less

Pirates & Slaves: Making America By Baylus C. Brooks
eBook (ePub): $12.99
Making America was a compromise between democracy and brutality – between pirates and slavers. Piracy was a business, long accepted as valid in America – arguably still accepted today.... More > Britain tried to end it, even tried to trick provincials into giving it up, but America held onto it tightly. Once legitimized into a sovereign, slaving nation, piracy moved to the land and became a system of economics only slightly removed from piracy itself. It became our “Manifest Destiny” to spread it across the continent and, eventually the world. Slavers fought a war that killed more than 600,000 Americans to maintain their unique brand of piracy or capitalism. Robber Barons used capitalism to monopolize and kill other businesses like pirates taking another ship. The reader can see where these ideas began – enmeshed in the violent wilderness “beyond the lines of amity” devolving human nature – competition and sport, stealing treasure and burning ships - with Caribbean Buccaneers and Pirates of the Golden Age!< Less
