Genetics of Gaucher Disease By Nadia Arora, ND
eBook (PDF): $4.95
This review article discusses genetic, clinical and evolutionary aspects of Gaucher disease. Gaucher disease is an autosomal recessive disorder of lipid storage. It is very common worldwide. This... More > review covers traditional laboratory and genetic testing for Gaucher disease, with specific attention given to the effectiveness and limitations of these tests. Treatment options, including experimental gene therapy, are covered as well. We explored the prevalence of this disorder and compared rates of occurrence of different mutations among different ethnic groups. Special attention has been given to the evolutionary aspect of Gaucher disease – we discussed anthropologic and animal studies and analyzed the most popular hypothesis of the selective advantage of Gaucher disease. This review article also discusses the rates of occurrence of neurological, pulmonary and cardio-vascular disease in Gaucher disease patients.< Less

A Field Guide to Genetic Programming By Riccardo Poli et al.
eBook (ePub): $1.01
Genetic programming (GP) is a systematic, domain-independent method for getting computers to solve problems automatically starting from a high-level statement of what needs to be done. Using ideas... More > from natural evolution, GP starts from an ooze of random computer programs, and progressively refines them through processes of mutation and sexual recombination, until high-fitness solutions emerge. All this without the user having to know or specify the form or structure of solutions in advance. GP has generated a plethora of human-competitive results and applications, including novel scientific discoveries and patentable inventions. This unique overview of this exciting technique is written by three of the most active scientists in GP.< Less

The Logical Selection Theory The Genetic Code Decoded – BIOTERNIONS PREMIER Understanding the principles of molecular computing with the application of the Genesis Table. Most models of the... More > origin of life suggest nucleotides developed from environmentally available organic compounds. In this case the amino acids first developed from Logical Selection rather than Darwin’s Natural Selection. In this paper the Bioternions in analogy to the quaternions, are represented as members of a non commutative molecular (chromosomal) algebra, which was extrapolated from the Yupana’s RNA codon table and related correspondence. Also we describe a novel methodology to extract permutation characteristics from codon structures using special matrix algebra in order to compose structural signature vectors which may be used efficiently to generate, compare and classify aminoacid structures into Bioternion families. In this study you’ll learn how the biomolecular structure and codon dynamics was derived from the Genesis Table.< Less
