J. M. Coetzee, a postmodern South African author, contributed to the standardization of postmodern fiction with his fifth novel, Foe (1986), which it is a re-writing of Daniel Defoe’s novel... However, Coetzee’s novel Foe treats the mechanism of narrative writing through re-writing; it is a mode of writing that is known to be postcolonial aspect is considered postmodern narratological technique.
