More > are consumers. When we get an itch for a new car or want to redecorate, we are consuming. Even when you buy Christian books or when you listen to Christian messages or buy Christian CDs we also are consuming. During this book I hope I can challenge what value you place on things that you own and the role consumerism has in your life. This book is a manifesto if you like, for another way to live. Another culture. Heaven's culture, instead of the current world culture we live in. We are in this world but not of it - so how do we as Christians navigate this consumer driven society around us? How can we be different without been separate? What does kingdom living look like in this world today? How can we make sure that the King is not crowded out by the barrage of the world we find ourselves surrounded by every day?< Less

A First Course In Ethical Hacking By Herman van Heerden
eBook (ePub): $3.99
As a youngster, the romance of hacking took hold of my imagination.  Computers were always my passion, and the myth (legend?) of kids who moved a satellite by messing around were well known and... More > the subject of daydreaming. But where to begin?  While still working a student job, I got my hands on the “Hackers Handbook". To put things in perspective, the internet was young, Microsoft did not believe in CD-ROMs and “Do you Netscape” was the web browsing term. Modems were the way you connected. I printed the entire “Handbook” on a dot matrix printer, ready to enrich myself with the knowledge of hackers.  The text was about BAUD, modems and the protocols used by BBSs.  I found the reading as exiting as a student who got his hands on a banned copy of The Little Red Book. But the content proved rather less than insightful.  Yes, hacking was different when the words were uttered “the beauty of the baud” (from the original Hackers Manifesto), but times have changed and changed again in a very short period of time.< Less
Karla Marx and the Man-Haters By Marshall Rockford Goodman

More > goals. Updated clichés and recycled doctrine now pass for enlightenment. Karla Marx will gain ever higher levels of totalitarian power unless her true intentions and associations are revealed. She relies on our ignorance and apathy. "Karla Marx and the Man-haters" seeks to counter that strategy. With eye-opening revelations, "Karla Marx and the Man-haters" explores feminism, past and present, in seven definitive chapters: Politics, Family, Media, Government, Education, Finance and Religion. Hundreds of quotes and more than 400 sources are cited. The author has been active in gender issues since the early ‘90s and has written widely on related topics. In this work, he has compiled a peerless, long overdue option for emerging men’s studies, Western history, politics and more. Please take a moment to peruse the book preview.< Less
