A Theory of Human Motivation By Abraham Maslow
eBook (ePub): $3.99
The present paper is an attempt to formulate a positive theory of motivation which will satisfy these theoretical demands and at the same time conform to the known facts, clinical and observational... More > as well as experimental. It derives most directly, however, from clinical experience. This theory is, I think, in the functionalist tradition of James and Dewey, and is fused with the holism of Wertheimer, Goldstein, and Gestalt Psychology, and with the dynamicism of Freud and Adler. This fusion or synthesis may arbitrarily be called a 'general-dynamic' theory. It is far easier to perceive and to criticize the aspects in motivation theory than to remedy them. Mostly this is because of the very serious lack of sound data in this area. I conceive this lack of sound facts to be due primarily to the absence of a valid theory of motivation. The present theory then must be considered to be a suggested program or framework for future research. (From the Introduction) Get Your Copy Now.< Less

I have written a book called ‘Simply happy’. One of my reasons for writing this book, is that I see a lot of tense people – in stores, in the streets, in trains etcetera. These... More > people are apparently unhappy, while I am feeling quite well. I have come to the conclusion that their unhappiness has to do with stress. Many situations in our community (aggression, drug abuse, vandalism etc.) are caused by stress. Another problem of our time is that most people are in a hurry, because they want too much, or they have not time enough. The book contains 9 chapters: 1 Home (see below) 2 Sleep 3 Money 4 Food 5 Nature 6 Music 7 Appearance 8 Making choices 9 Time (busy, busy, busy …) I explain in each chapter how people can become happier through simple things.
